Why did Jolteon ex's Ability "Electromagnetic Wall" deal no damage to my opponent's Pokémon?

Jolteon ex's Ability "Electromagnetic Wall" only takes effect when Energy is attached to a Pokémon from the Energy Zone.

■Examples of when the Ability "Electromagnetic Wall" comes into effect:
- When Energy generated within the Energy Zone is summarily attached to a Pokémon.
- When a card's effect causes Energy from the Energy Zone to be attached to a Pokémon.

■Examples of when the Ability "Electromagnetic Wall" does not come into effect:
- When a card's effect causes Energy from the Discard Pile to be attached to a Pokémon.
- When a card's effect causes Energy from one Pokémon to be attached to a different Pokémon.
